Hernando County continues to accept applications from applicants for funding assistance available through the Neighborhood Stabilization Program 3 (NSP3). The federally-funded NSP3 Program provides emergency assistance to state and local governments to acquire and redevelop foreclosed homes that might otherwise become sources of abandonment and blight within their communities. Qualified applicants may utilize this funding for down payment, mortgage buy-down, minor rehabilitation and related assistance for the purchase of these homes. As part of the application and qualification process, applicants must attend a mandatory NSP3 Program Homebuyer Orientation Session as well as a Homebuyers Workshop. The next orientation session will be held & August 13, 2012 from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm, in the Hernando County Government Center, First Floor, Room 160, Brooksville, Florida. Applications may be picked up at Hernando County Health and Human Services, 20 North Main Street, Room #161, Brooksville, FL 34601 Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or printed from the website at www.hernandodownpayment.com . To receive an application by mail, please call (352)540-4338. Applications will be accepted until all funds are expended.
